"Over the Ditch"

"Over the Ditch" is a collection of 60 plus studies in oil, acrylic, watercolour and pastel completed by myself over the past three years. Many are literally views from one or other sides of hedges and stone walls of country roads, loneys and paths of rural County Down. The Lecale coast from Strangford to Ballyhornan features strongly with a series of paintings of Kilclief beach and lighthouse and several studies of Ballyhornan and Guns Island. The large cow and calf oils are all the result of "Over the Ditch" encounters between the artist and the bemused cattle. I often wondered who was studying who as the cows were always happy to stare me out.

Also in this collection is a series of paintings in the Mourne Mountains, mountain streams, still life and interesting old cottage windows from my previous "Fading Vistas" series.
